Mary Jo CatlettMary Jo Catlett appeared on the Colony stage as Aunt Queenie in Bell Book and Candle.

Television audiences may remember her from Diff ’rent Strokes as Pearl Gallagher, Mary Finnigan on General Hospital (for which she received an Emmy nomination), Glee, The Bob Newhart Show, Gimme A Break, Saved By The Bell, M*A*S*H, That’s So Raven, and Cold Case. She is also the voice of Mrs. Puff on SpongeBob SquarePants.

Her Broadway credits include the original cast of Hello, Dolly! (Ernestina), the musical Canterbury Tales, Play Me A Country Song, Lysistrata, Promenade, Different Times, and The Pajama Game.

Regionally she has worked at the Goodspeed Opera House in The Boy Friend, Good News, Something’s Afoot (original), and Bloomer Girl.

She received the Washington Theatre Critics Award for her work in Twenty Seven Wagons Full of Cotton and locally garnered two Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards for her performances in Come Back, Little Sheba and Philadelphia, Here I Come. Her recent stage appearances include Beauty and the Beast, The Full Monty, Deaf West’s production of Big River, and several variations of Nunsense.

Films include Semi-Tough, Serial Mom, The Champ, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Bench Warmers.

She loves puns and, having received an electronic reader for her birthday, she rehearses and reads novels equipped with “Bell, Book and Kindle.”
