2004 Community Spotlight Award

 

The City Of Burbank and The Colony Theatre will honor one of Burbank’s most distinguished leaders

Former Mayor of Burbank – Council Member Stacey Murphy

for her lasting commitment to the city and her vision for its future

 

June 16, 2004…Burbank...The Colony Theatre Company and the City of Burbank are pleased to announce the inaugural 2004 Community Spotlight Awards which recognizes a lasting commitment to the city.  The first-ever award will be presented to former Mayor of Burbank, Council Member Stacey Murphy.  A special ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 30th at 6:00pm at the Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third St. in the heart of Burbank.  The event will be hosted by The Cusumano Real Estate group.  There will be a reception catered by P.F. Chang’s in the lobby of the theatre prior to the ceremony, which will also feature a performance of scenes from the Colony Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of the classic AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS.  A coffee and dessert reception will immediately follow the ceremony.   

Colony Theatre Producing Director Barbara Beckley hopes the Spotlight Award will become a community tradition. “Stacey and I dedicated this building (the Colony Theatre) together in 2000.  Coming to Burbank and finding the warmth and support of a real community has meant the world to us, and we want to continue, on an annual basis, to honor those who’ve made this such a special place.  I can think of no better person to present this award to than Stacey Murphy.”

 

The Colony Theatre and the City of Burbank are producing the evening.
