She starred on Broadway and in the national tour of Crimes of the Heart and played Maggie in the Broadway tour of Dancing at Lughnasa.
She has guest or co-starred on numerous episodic television series, including Monk, American Dreams, Crossing Jordan, Judging Amy, The Huntress, The X Files, and ER, in an episode directed by Anthony Edwards. She has played an eccentric Russian coffee shop owner in the independent film Saved by the Rules, starred in PBS's Leatherstocking Tales, and was a lead in the Disney film Good Ole Boy, co-starring Richard Farnsworth. Major regional theater credits include leading roles in Three Sisters, Moon For the Misbegotten (both at the Pittsburgh Public), Fool For Love (Cleveland Playhouse/Missouri Rep), Road to Mecca (Arizona Rep), Gardenia (Pittsburgh Public), Fallen Angels (Missouri Rep), Othello, Twelfth Night (Cincinnati Playhouse), and Red River (opposite John Spencer at the Goodman Theatre). At the Classical Theater Lab, she played the title role in a new translation of Racine's Phaedre and Lady Rosamund in a workshop production of The Liars. S
She was invited to the American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women, where she wrote and directed the 35mm short film, Here Dies Another Day, starring Oscar nominee/Tony Award winner John Randolph. It won several prizes as an official selection in 23 film festivals in 1997-'99 and qualified for Academy Award consideration.
