Joel Goldes

Joel Goldes has been the Dialect Coach on Colony productions of Educating Rita, "Master Harold" ... and the boys, The Drawer Boy, Toys in the Attic and others.

He recently returned to the La Jolla Playhouse to coach the new musical Memphis. Other theater includes Looped (with Valerie Harper), Mask, and Orson’s Shadow at the Pasadena Playhouse; My Antonia, Bus Stop,Hamlet, Anne Frank, A Streetcar Named Desire, Night of the Iguana, and others at the Rubicon; as well as dialect coaching for NPR/LA Theatre-Works, The Kirk Douglas Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Taper Too, SCR, The Old Globe, Boston Court, and Mamma Mia in Las Vegas.

Film and TV Joel has coached includes Kitt Kittredge, War of the Worlds, Bobby, Nine Lives, Art School Confidential, Surveillance, CSI, Heroes, Lost, Numb3rs, Lackawanna Blues, Dora the Explorer, and Shark. He has coached actors Nicolas Cage, Julia Ormond, Jim Broadbent, Samantha Morton, Jason Isaacs, Jennifer Garner, Ryan Phillippe, Roger Daltrey (in four differentdialects and Spanish), and Max, the new voice of Volkswagen. 

He’s coached on-camera for Bravo (the upcoming Chef Academy), MTV (From Gs to Gents), VH-1 (I Know My Kid’s A Star), F/X (Black. White.), and ABC Family (Switched). 

Joel holds an MFA from UC Irvine.
