He comes to The Colony from two years as Artistic Director of the Bloomington Playwrights Project in Indiana where he professionalized the staff and greatly increased annual revenue. Also a writer and composer, his musicals and plays have been produced in New York and Chicago, and he has worked on more than 150 productions in roles including producer, director, and writer. He has worked with Playwrights Horizons, Ensemble Studio Theatre, the 52nd Street Project, the Miranda Theatre, and Real Rain Productions. Richard has taught theatre
at Indiana University and privately. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition
with High Honors from the University of Oklahoma and has studied at Playwrights
Horizons, Indiana University, the New School, the Juilliard School, the
Aspen Music Festival, and is an alumnus of the BMI Lehmann Engel Music
Theatre Workshop.
