The Book & Lyrics for the
Colony's Production of On The
Twentieth Century are by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Together, they
have the longest running creative partnership in theatre history.
Comden and Green have collaborated
with the likes of Leonard Bernstein, Jerome Robbins, and Jule Styne. Five
of their Broadway musicals, Applause, Hallelujah, Baby!, Wonderful Town,
On The Twentieth Century, and The Will Rogers Follies, have
won them Tony Awards.
Their many film musicals
include Singin’ in the Rain, which has been internationally acclaimed
as one of the ten best films of all time, and The Band Wagon and
It’s
Always Fair Weather, both of which received Academy Award nominations. |
