Drama Critic's Circle Award

Theatre LA Ovation Awards

The Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Awards are the only peer-judged theatre awards in Los Angeles.  Widely considered as the "Tonys" of LA theatre, these coveted competitive awards were first handed out in 1994, and The Colony Theatre has earned 49 nominations and has won 13 awards, including the highest honor, Best Play in a Larger Theatre, two years in a row (2002 and 2003).

Award

The prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle has honored individual Colony members and productions with many awards and nominations. The Colony itself has been honored to receive two major awards. In 1976, in only its second season, The Colony received a Special Award for Continued Excellence in Production. Then in 1990, it received the coveted Margaret Harford Award for distinguished achievement

The Season kicks off with the tour-de-force one man show The Thousandth Night, joining Scheherazade with a concentration camp in a 1943 battle to live. Next, Trying a hopeful and humorous autobiographical tale of friendship amidst life's most inevitable adventure -- growing old. Then "Master Harold" ... and the boys the stunning masterpiece and one of the most powerful coming-of-age plays ever written. Next, the delightful romantic comedy, Almost Maine. The Season is capped-off by a humourous new American musical that will touch your heart, The Immigrant.
